Papillion Manor, Papillion, NE and Westward Heights, Lander, WY have been recognized by American Health Care Association (AHCA) for meeting all quality initiative goals
Papillion Manor in Papillion Nebraska and Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, Wyoming, received recognition from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) for superior performance on quality initiatives. Papillion Manor and Westward Heights are among only 68 other skilled nursing centers which accomplished all four goals under the initiative and they are the only skilled nursing centers in Nebraska and Wyoming to receive this 4-tier recognition, according to a news release.
The Quality Initiative Recognition Program recognized AHCA skilled nursing center members who attained one or more of the four AHCA Quality Initiative goals:
- Safely reduce hospital readmissions within 30 days during a skilled nursing stay by 15 percent;
- Increase team stability by reducing nursing team turnover by 15 percent;
- Increase customer satisfaction by having 90 percent of residents and families willing to recommend their center to others; and
- Safely reduce the off-label use of antipsychotics by 15 percent.
Papillion Manor and Westward Heights Care Center were recognized at the AHCA’s annual Symposium, this year held in New Orleans, for achieving all four goals in 2013.
There were 3,758 skilled nursing centers achieving one goal; 1,944 skilled nursing centers achieving two goals; 448 skilled nursing centers achieving three goals; and 68 skilled nursing centers achieving four goals.
Papillion Manor is one of 31 skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities owned and/or managed by Vetter Health Services (VHS) of Elkhorn, Nebraska. Westward Heights Care Center is one of those 31 skilled nursing and rehabilitation community locally owned by a non-profit Board of Directors and managed by Vetter Health Services. At Papillion Manor and Westward Heights, the administrator and team members develop plans to continuously improve their services and the campus with the support from the VHS network. Operating decisions are made locally to assure that Papillion Manor and Westward Heights remains responsive to the needs of its residents and the Papillion and Lander communities.
