Omaha, NE: 21 Days of Gratitude

Gratitude      21 Days

During the month of November, Brookestone Village team members, residents and family members were invited to participate in “21 Days of Gratitude”. Cards and baskets were provided at the front entrance, work room and break room and everyone in the Brookestone Village family was encouraged to write a note to someone they appreciate. Facility Chaplains Christy Ross and Jack Kmiecik then distributed those notes. Throughout the 21 days, 435 notes were written and distributed! We received notes from team members, family members and outside guests which were passed on to the team, households, residents and families. It was great to see so many take the time to write a simple note to let someone know they are appreciated! So often we think positive thoughts about someone, but we don’t always go the extra step and let them know. “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it” (William Arthur Ward).

We are glad so many at Brookestone Village took the time to give a gift of “thanks.” Teamwork-Our relationships are built on mutual trust and respect. We recognize the value and worth of each person we are privileged to encounter, work with, and serve. We seek to understand what is important to others and let people know they are appreciated for who they are and what they do.
