Alliance, NE: Helping at Home

Wrapping   Packing      Accomplished     Food Donations The Highland Park Care Center leadership team embraced the seasonal theme of giving and wanted to offer some Thanksgiving cheer; the discussion led to who could benefit from such energy and what exactly should we do. It didn’t take long before the realization arose that there are team members within our HPCC community who could use a little lift around turkey day and it was determined that we would put together a food basket for these members of our family. The list of recipients was generated by nominations from other team members, their peers who saw a genuine need. While the baskets ended up being boxes, they were nevertheless filled with grocery gift cards and other Thanksgiving staples. These were lovingly wrapped with festive paper and hand delivered around town in our trusty bus. It was a simple act to demonstrate how important we are to each other and to allow a moment to grasp the ideal that there are appropriate times to make things about other people, not just ourselves.

Serving-We succeed by focusing our attention and energies on anticipating and exceeding people’s expectations. Our actions are driven by a “Yes, I can” attitude and the commitment that we are “Family Serving Family.”
