The Scott Center in Omaha was the site of the 2014 Elephant Remembers, a Douglas County Republican’s annual event that highlights the party’s successes in the past year and looks forward to the upcoming political elections. Jack and Eldora attended the event with family members, VHS team members, several quality partners and business associates. It was a gala event, with anybody of who’s who in the Republican Party present. The evening included a nod to the successes of Mayor Jean Stohert’s first year in office as she was recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Master of Ceremonies Scott Vorhees guided the evening along with DCRP Chairman Bryan Baumgart. Miss Alliance, Staci Craighead, opened the event with the National Anthem. Capitol Ministries Rev. Perry Gauthie provided the invocation. Glenn VanEkeren, President of VHS, spoke to the crowd of approximately 350 guests, sharing Jack and Eldora’s story along with tribute to their involvement in the political arena. He shared that both are involved in civic and philanthropic work in the United States and internationally.
