Norfolk, NE: Holiday Blood Drive

Getting ReadyA great way to enhance the Quality Reputation of Heritage of Bel-air is to promote relationships of confidence in Northeast Nebraska through the involvement in important community partnerships. On Friday, November 21, Heritage of Bel-Air partnered with the American Red Cross for a blood drive. This was a wonderful blood drive for the Bel-Air team because they set the largest goal ever recorded on the Bel-Air campus. The hefty goal was 36 people, so the Red Cross decided to bring their bus to accommodate.

Blood MobileIt was frigid day but the waiting area welcomed guests with hot apple cider and fresh-brewed coffee while they sat around a cozy fire. Donating blood took about half an hour, but the friendly staff at the American Red Cross made the process very smooth and worthwhile. After donating the guests returned into the warm formal dining room for homemade dips, sandwiches, and deserts. After 6 hours, 45 people had come through the process and tried to donate their precious blood. Even though not every person was able to give their blood, the large number of people who attended made the drive very successful. In the end, 34 units were collected and a potential of 102 people can benefit from those units.
