Elkhorn, NE: The Journey of Learning Continues with the People Development Conference
Rhonda Flanigan, Chief People Officer at Vetter Health Services hosted 26 People Development Coordinators, Payroll Coordinators and Office Managers at the People Development Conference September 1-3. This two and a half day conference provided opportunity for attendees to reconnect with one another, build new relationships and learn from one another. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about various topics including: the new Payroll/HRIS system, Health Care Reform and benefits, having ‘Crucial Conversations’, Gallup’s 34 Strengths, legal issues, orientation/mentoring and other topics.
In addition, round table discussions were valuable learning tools and covered topics such as recruitment, recognition, retention and communication strategies. Diane Klein, People Development Coordinator at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls, Iowa summed up the conference nicely by stating the following, “I felt this year’s People Development Conference was outstanding! It brought back many good ideas from the round table discussions and I was excited to learn about our upcoming payroll system. It is always good to re-visit our Mission, Vision, Values and how we play a role in it every day. I also brought back some informative information from Angie’s, Rhonda’s and Ed’s presentations that I will be updating our leadership team on. Thank you for the opportunity to attend this and I’m really glad that they are going to do it next year.”
