Seward, NE: Stop and Watch Pays Off

Ridgewood’s Nurse Leadership Team (Emma, Stacy, Kathie and Jeanne) thanked Jennie and Katie for using their Stop and Watch tool to improve the quality care for a resident who had a need. Stop and Watch allowed Katie, a Medication Aide, to get the Resident’s change of condition to her charge nurse Jennie, RN. Jennie was able to make changes to that resident’s plan of care to meet the resident need. After the stop and watch kick off activities, we have heard lots of positive outcomes from just improving our communication. All staff are encouraged to use this tool to identify early warning signs in a resident who is having a change in condition. We are not as good as The Cat in the Hat when it comes to balancing out our day to day requests. Stop and Watch keeps us organized.
