Elkhorn, NE: Vetter Health Services is Honored with NHCA Care PAC Powerhouse Award

Shari Jack Heath

On March 5, Vetter Health Services (VHS) was presented with the Nebraska Health Care Association (NHCA) Care PAC Powerhouse Award for 2014. Heath Boddy, NHCA’s President and CEO, presented the award to Jack Vetter at the Senator’s Reception at the Nebraska Club following the Association’s Annual Day at the Legislature in Lincoln, NE. The award honors the internal efforts that took place among the Vetter Health Services’ team members at their communities and the home office throughout the year.

The Power House Award is presented to the “Community” that goes above and beyond the call of duty in: • Informing fellow employees of the Association’s mission and goals • Informing eligible contributors within its “Community” of the importance of Care PAC • Encouraging eligible employees within its “Community” to be involved politically and with Care PAC.

Heath shared, “Part of Vetter Health Services’ unique corporate culture encourages all of its employees to be involved in the political processes. The home office, which is located in Elkhorn, challenges each and every one of the company’s administrators and home office team members to contribute. In addition, VHS also sends out frequent updates to employees so that they can see how much they have contributed to the cause. These efforts trickle down from the top and result in a very impressive showing. Over the years, Vetter Health Services has raised thousands for Care PAC. Congratulations, Vetter Health Services!”

Shari Terry, VHS’ Operations Coordinator, served as co-chair to the NHCA Care PAC Board for a subsequent term in 2014. Jack shared, “She was key to leading and rallying for Care PAC at VHS and within facilities across the state. Shari, thank you for challenging us to ‘lead by example’. Your passion for our profession along with your focus and desire to ‘Change the View of long-term care’ in Lincoln and Washington D.C. inspires. Thank you for continuing to challenge us to be involved at a grassroots level while making financial contributions along the way.” “I was pleased to receive the Powerhouse award on behalf of Vetter Health Services,” said Jack. The plaque was added to the collection of significant items in the display case in the VHS Lobby.
