Elkhorn, NE: Repurposing can be the greater blessing

Todd Vetter called – still overcome by a wonderful experience. Todd is the Executive Assistant to VHS and a member of the board of Mobility for Humanity, the philanthropic company for Mark Zack’s company Mobility Motoring. Mark is a very special friend and a VHS Quality Partner who equips our resident vans for handicap transportation. Long story short – the former Hooper Care Center van was donated to Mobility for Humanity a few months ago. Most recently Mark ask Todd to join him at Louisville School to donate the van to the family of 16 year old student, Austin Zimmerline. Austin has a muscular degenerative disease. His school counselor had been in contact with Mobility for Humanity regarding the family’s need for a van to provide transportation for Austin. With halting voice Todd shared, “It was a very humbling experience. We are blessed to be able to provide this for Austin and his family.”

The story aired on Channel 7 KETV, Omaha, on May 15. The Omaha World Herald featured the story as well.

Mobility for Humanity, thanks for being a wonderful Quality Partner – for co-sharing this blessing with the VHS Family. Hooper Care Center team – thanks for taking great care of the van while it served your residents. It continues to serve in the capacity it was created for, blessing yet another family.

We are blessed to be a blessing. Love repurposing. The greatest thing is, the repurposed portion of the life of an item often brings the greater blessing. Just ask Austin and his family.
