Congratulations to Loren Navratil, the 2026 Resident of the Year from Brookestone of Papillion
The Nebraska Nursing Facility Association Resident of the Year Award recognizes a resident who contributes to the well-being of fellow residents and their home facility.
Loren Navratil has become a cornerstone of Brookestone of Papillion through his kindness, leadership, and commitment to others. Three mornings each week, he leads a walking club for residents and staff, choosing music, encouraging participation, and ensuring everyone feels they belong. He leads a weekly Rosary gathering, welcomes prospective residents and families during tours, supports staff at events, cares for the courtyard garden, and brings joy through special appearances in costume. Whether checking on fellow residents during meals, inviting others to activities, or sharing appreciation with caregivers, he demonstrates that every resident has a role in creating a caring community.

Navratil was presented with the 2026 Nebraska Nursing Facility Association Resident of the Year Award during the Nebraska Nursing Facility Association-Nebraska Assisted Living Association Annual Convention on August 19. Nebraska Health Care Association is the parent to Nebraska Nursing Facility Association, Nebraska Assisted Living Association, Nebraska Health Care Learning Center, and Nebraska Health Care Foundation.
